On this page you will find details of all the Events as well as some of the Photo and Document archives we have so far collected.
Celebration Service
This will be a combined gathering of all four of the St George's congregations (8am, 9.45am, TOAST & WNC). We will be celebrating God’s blessing on the life and Ministry of the church and its members over the last 50 years, as well as praying that we might continue to develop this work into the coming years.
After the formal celebrations, Lunch and a relaxing time together in the church grounds will be provided.
On display will be information about the church, past and present including a photo gallery and some ‘relics’ from the past 50 years. We are also hoping to display plans for the possible replacement of the old church with a new hall complex. We will also be burying a time capsule full of memorabilia which will be opened in 50 years time.
Our speaker for the morning is Neil Fitzpatrick. Neil with his wife Sandra served with us from 1995 to 1997. He is currently the Senior Minister at Jannali Anglican Church.
This Celebration will be open to anyone who’d like to join with us.

REVIEW
We had fine weather and about 330 people gathered to give thanks to God for his faithfulness over the last 50 years and pray for the next 50.
The Service was preceded by our own inhouse "Billy Graham Quartet" (Chris Sheerman, Graham Watson, Elton Menday & Alan Phillips) who sang a number of old time chorus. The service opened as it would have 50 years ago. The minister (Rev Rob Powell) in robes and reading from the 1662 prayer book morning prayer. The service moved from what was to what is now. The music moving from traditional hymn through Scripture in Song to modern day songs.
Neil Fitzpattrick (a previous pastor) gave a fantastically encouraging message from Psalm 148 on praising God - especially as we tell others about what he has done through Jesus.
At the end of the service many stayed on to catch up with past friends, help bury the time capsule which will be opened in 50 years, peruse the memorabilia display and partake of a wonderful lunch.
What a great day - the place was buzzing!

Family Fun Day
We are planning a fun filled day in a carnival atmosphere for all the family. The day will get under way at 10am with games, craft, face painting and other fun activities. For the adults there will be a ‘coffee shop’ serving high quality tea and coffee with scones, jam and cream.
Live entertainment will be scheduled throughout the day with clowns, jugglers, drama and music. A BBQ lunch will be available from 12 noon.

REVIEW
WOW! What a day! It was hot, it was busy BUT it was FUN. Sausage sandwiches were consumed, castles jumped in, faces painted, planes made and flown, games galore, balloons twisted , plaster moulds decorated, playdough & goop massaged and over 160 show bags handed out ALL FOR FREE.
The cafe was also a great success with the best coffee on the mountains (at any price) available for just $1.50.
Lots of young families attended and had a great time. The day was a great success and many contacts were made with people from the community. Just wait for next year's Fun Day.

REVIEW
What a great night! People went out of their way to have a good time. The trivia was engaging for all ages, the musical entertainment was top class and fun. Although there were allegations of score fixing and a few spent time in the "greivance spot" no-one really cared who won. We just enjoyed each others company and got to know each other a little better.

He continues to play jazz regularly in professional settings, and has been performing and speaking at evangelistic jazz nights for several years now. Con is married with three children, and holds a doctorate in Ancient Greek. For sport, Con enjoys the occasional game of chess.
Con studied jazz performance at The Canberra School of Music, ANU. He was the recipient of the James Morrison Jazz Scholarship in 1995, and recorded his self-titled album with Morrison at the age of 19.

REVIEW
We had a great night with many inviting friends to share in the meal and listen to some live Jazz. Although the venue was a little noisy for easy conversation, the setup for hearing the band was good. The food was plentiful and of a good standard.
Speaking as one who is not a Jazz fanatic the music was easy to listen to (I even recognised a few tunes!) and extremely well played. Con educated us novices in the art and structures of Jazz music, relating how it provides a freedom for each musician within the bounds of tempo and key, which means a lot of improvisation but not anarchy! He then related this to our connection with Jesus. We are most free when we do that which we were made to do (fulfilling our potential) that is in relationship with God who made us. This he said is only possible through what Jesus did by dying in our place upon the cross.
Christianity Explored
CE is a six week investigation of the Christian faith.
It has been designed for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity informally with a group of other people.
Whether you have previous experience of Church, Christians and the Bible, or none at all, this course is for you. Everyone is welcome - from the most sympathetic Sunday schooler to the convinced atheist. We will respect your background, culture and beliefs. Tell us as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable.
Each week one of the ministers will give a talk followed by some discussions and question times. These discussions and talks take place over a relaxed dinner (a bargain at only $5 per person). Attendees are encouraged to feel free ask any question they want. This is your chance to seek the truth with no strings attached.
