Here are some reviews of the weekend…

I had a great time. Highlights – listening to Colin’s talks, chatting to people, great food, great organising, fabulous atmosphere, excellent scrabble game – thanks John! – Kathy P.

The dorms we slept in were great – Michelle L.

It was good to get to know some of the kids better – Bronwyn P.

Making playdough ‘Heavens’ was fun! – Isaac

The park was sooooo fun!!! – Danni

I went canoeing and it was really fun – David

The giant swing was fun – Cayley

We feel the church house party is a wonderful time to get to know other members of the church family in a more intimate and personal way. You are able to have deeper conversations not always possible at Sunday services. The site is excellent, with plenty of room for children to run wild, the organisation was excellent, thanks to Joanne and Trish. The speaker, Colin Bale, was excellent. His thorough research of Australian History was very enlightening, and his anecdotal stories were inspiring and on the whole it was a great weekend. Everyone should go next time. – Ern & Ruth

It was fun when I got a shot on the bullseye. We had lots of fun there. We could learn about the bible. – Keira

It was fun going canoeing. It was fun shooting the bow and arrow. We learnt about heaven. God’s made a room for everyone. – Timothy

The Almighty provided an almighty storm for Friday night. Those of us in tents enjoyed a more intense tempest than those less hardy (or should that be harding) folk in the cabins! Saturday dawned warm and rainless. Two stimulating studies from the very engaging speaker provided much food for thought and plenty of fodder for discussion. The afternoon was great fun for the intrepid and the not so – it was very entertaining watching people plunge from a great height on the giant swing. Archery and canoeing were both very popular, as was capsizing canoes and swimming in the river. After a delicious dinner the evening gave way to many fast paced and hilarious board games as well as giant jigsaw puzzles. There was also plenty of time for long chats over a cuppa. Sunday morning came too soon, probably due to a lack of shut-eye, but we were roused from our stupor by another excellent talk and some fantastic music. A sausage sizzle rounded off the weekend and most of us lingered as long as we could before heading back home.
The whole weekend was a blessing in so may ways. Thanks to the organisers for all their hard work.
    We’ll be back!
